Insects are Everywhere

The sun goes down, the lights are out. There is a scurry across the counter. You turn on the light. The nocturnal creatures run for cover. You crawl back to bed. Only to wake up itching. The sun finally comes up so you must be safe from the insect invasion. You grab a cup of coffee as you gaze out of the window. Only to see a diurnal bug walk up the wall. That’s when you realize that Insects are everywhere.

We just cannot keep every bug out of our homes. These pests are looking for three requirements for life: food, water, and shelter. Insects will do all they can to find what they need for survival. Often times they do find it in our homes.

Crawling Bugs

Some bugs crawl into our homes. Bugs like the earwig, the centipede, the cockroach, the spider, and even the carpenter ant. They will walk all over the outside of our homes trying to make their way inside. Not all will succeed. Sadly, many do.

Flying Bugs

Then there are some who fly into our homes, like flying ants, the termite, the mosquito, a moth, a beetle and so many more. We leave a light on, then open outdoors. That’s what a bug sees as an open invitation as the come on in to make themselves at home.

Hitchhiking Bugs

Then there are bugs that like to hitch a ride. Bed Bugs, for instance, will crawl on us at restaurants, hotels and more. Then they make themselves at home once we head back after a day out. Even fleas will hitch a ride on our pet so it can go home with its food supply. Cockroaches have been known to hide in boxes and even used items. The same things happen with Silverfish. We willingly bring these bugs into our home without knowing about in.

As you can see, a bug will do all it can to make itself at home in your domicile. Some require professional pest control while others do not require the use of an exterminator. Either way, expect insects to do everything in their power to get the essentials for life where you live. It’s our job to make it less attractive to these invaders
