Is that a Bed Bug Infestation?   arrow

Is that a Bed Bug Infestation?

You wake you and thought you saw something scurry on the sheets of your bed. By the time you wipe the sleep from your eyes and turn the light on, nothing was there. Maybe it was in your head. Maybe it was just a dream. Or maybe it’s a bed bug infestation. Nah it can’t be.

Bed bugs are the last thing on your mind. It has to be something else that you saw. So, the search begins. You remember that there was a silverfish infestation in the past. As a result, you think to yourself that’s probably what they were. You begin to inspect your closet because there once were cardboard boxes stored. You remember that silverfish love boxes. Nope, boxes are gone. There are no other papers or books stored, so this pest is scratched off the list.

Then you think, maybe it was a cockroach. These roaches do get in from time to time. You begin to search the room and find nothing. Then you remembered how you sealed all the pipes and cracks and crevices both inside and outside of your home. There are no breaches, so it is probably not cockroaches.

Hmm, can it be a spider infestation? Now you begin your search for spiders. Then you remembered that you replaced all of your outdoor lightings with lightbulbs that do not attract flying insects. Flying insects like ants and termites are the favorite food of spiders. So, it probably was not a spider.

Can the problem be mosquitoes? You have not heard a mosquito buzzing around. Nor have you seen them anywhere inside the house. It’s probable but less likely to be mosquitoes.

Well, what else could it be? You start to strip the bed and notice some blood spots. Uh oh, could this be a bed bug problem? Sheets are removed nothing. But as soon as you pick up the mattress, there in the corner is a bed bug. How is that possible?

Well, these days bed bugs can come from just about anywhere you go. Places such as a movie theater, church, library, school, hotels, and even restaurants. It’s not your fault that these blood-sucking creatures set up shop on your home.

Bed bugs are not easy to control, on your own. Now that you know you have an infestation it makes sense to hire a professional exterminator to provide pest control for the bug infestation. The sooner, the better, since bed bugs are prolific breeders. Make sure to hire an experienced pest control company. Bed bugs are relatively a new experience to the pest control industry. Mainly since they have resurged and most exterminators have not even seen a bed bug, until now.

If you are uncertain of an active bed bug infestation, call an exterminator to know for certain.
