Hurricane Dorian Bed Bugs   arrow

Well, it’s another year in Florida and a hurricane is coming our way again. But, there’s one insect that doesn’t care one way or another. That’s right, the bed bug is still around being a huge pest in the Tampa area. That’s why we’re gonna go over the basics of the Hurricane Dorian Bed Bugs

Hurricane Dorian Bed Bugs: Infestation Prevention

What can be done to prevent an infestation? Sadly, nothing is one hundred percent effective in preventing a colony from starting at home. However, there are things that can be done to help reduce the likelihood of getting an infestation. For instance, if a pocketbook or backpack can be left at home instead of being brought into a potential bed bug-infested area, do so. Once the outing is complete, check clothing and body for any bed bugs prior to entering your home. I know these preventative measures are not the most practical ones to achieve. At the very least, I would suggest checking your home for bed bugs as often as you can. When you change the sheets, check the bed. When you clean your house, check the furniture.

And with this hurricane is going to come with a fair share of rain. And when I say a fair share, I mean likely flood conditions. We’re going to be up to our ankles in water. The hurricane Dorian Bed Bugs are gonna look for a new place to live.

These flood conditions are causing bugs to look for higher, drier ground. Consequently, it has caused an increase of pests inside our homes and businesses.

We have seen an increase of ants, roaches, and spiders throughout Pinellas County. Homes in Clearwater, St Petersburg, and adjoining counties have reported pests inside for the first time ever. Once these bugs enter our homes and businesses, they will not leave on their own.

What Should I do?

Treatment from a licensed pest control company or from doing it yourself products should be employed in order to rid the structure of these unwanted pests. If you need an exterminator, call Earth’s Best at 1-800-634-1313; or visit their website www.insectfree.com.
