Well, it’s that time again in the sunshine state. The flowers are blooming, the birds are singing, and the tourism industry is slowing down for a few months. Spring is in the air, and the weather is beautiful. But we’re not the only ones who enjoy this good weather, no. The Palm Harbor bugs are back in action. And today we’ll go over a few of the worst offenders.
Palm Harbor Bugs: The Mosquito
The worst of the worst really. There are few things that disgust and harass people more than this buzzing little parasite. And not only are our local species bad, but we have invaders from around the world. Florida is home to mosquitos from South America, Asia, Africa, and just about anywhere else that has them. And we can think our booming ports and trade industry for that.
That’s why Florida is so thick with bloodborne mosquito diseases. Everything from Zika Virus to malaria can be found plaguing our shores. That’s why if you go out, you should make sure to have some sort of protection. Anything from bug spray to long sleeves should be good.
Palm Harbor Bugs: The Roach
Probably the most disgusting of the palm harbor bugs is the roach. They’re chunkier in Florida than they are anywhere else, with thick bodies and wings that let them clumsily fly right into your face if you’re not careful. And the second you leave one scrap of food or water for them to eat or drink, their population booms to unmanageable numbers.
Palm Harbor Bugs: What To Do
Well, for the layman, there’s not really you can do for an infestation. Be sure to call a pest control specialist as quickly as you can if you find yourself infested with either of these insects.
